This is prepared by stirring the stearic acid and "Santicizer" 9 in the alcohol until dissolved. The morpholine and water are added slowly with stirring. When a clear solution is obtained the Zein G200 is added with stirring until solution is complete. Although stearic acid alone has limited solubility in proprietary alcohol at room temperature, the morpholine soap is readily dispersed in this solvent system. When formulation has aged at room temperature for one to two weeks, a layer of fatty acid soap may be apparent at the bottom of the container.
Gentle warming to 30 to 40C redisperses this soap. |
