Mix together the mineral oil, lanolin, and chlorinated paraffin, warm to approximately 50C, and add the emulsifying agents. Dissolve the gelatin and borax in 25 gal of water and heat to 45C. Add the oil mixture and stir until the emulsion has cooled to room temperature.
dissolve the ammonium thioglycolate in the remainder of the water, adjust the pH to 9.0-9.5 with ammonium hydroxide, and add to the emulsion, with thorough mixing. |
