Heat 0.25 of water, corn syrup, and starch to boiling. Add the remaining water (cold). Dry blend the powdered milk, sugar, and Methocel and add to mixture. Add eggs, vanilla, salt, and butter (melted) and blend well. Fill pie shell 0.5 full and bake 10 min or until crust forms. Refill as desired and bake approx. 15 min more.
Note: This formula represents a 50% reduction in egg yolks as compared with typically used formulas. |
