This is glaze will mature at about 2170F. Zinc oxide is also
reported to increase glaze elasticity, strength and chemical durability.
When a large amount of zinc oxide is used in a glaze, it will not
dissolve completely and will impart whiteness. Less zinc oxide is
required for this effect if the alumina and alkaline earths are
decreased. Zinc oxide affects colors in glazes to varying degrees; it
aids blues and tends to impress the formation of greens with chrom |
