This is a two phase product which loosens baked-on carbon and strips
paint from surfaces which are immersed in the lower layer of active
solvent for about 15 minutes. the upper layer serves as an evaporation
retardant. Contact with the skin and breathing of vapor is dangerous, so
use with caution
Cresylic acid/15.00

Oleic acid/5.50
Methylene chloride/57.35
Sodium hydroxide (50% solution)/2.15 |

Methylene chloride evaporates rapidly, so this chemical should be handled in cool well ventilated areas. Cresylic acid is extremely hazardous, so avoid all contact with skin and inhalation of vapors.
Mix the first three ingredients. Slowly add sodium hydroxide, while stirring. heat will be generated by the reaction, so cool the batch to prevent excessive evaporation. Finally add the water and continue stirring for ten minutes. |
