The following typical formulation is recommended for both laminating
and flocking where durability to washing and drycleaning is required in
the end-product
Ammonium hydroxide (28 to 30% NH3)/1.0
"Rhonite" 401/8.0
Viscosity (#4 spindle, 6 r.p.m.), cps/100,000
"Catalyst" AC/1.0
"Rhoplex" B-15/90.0 |

"Rhonite" 401 should be mixed with an equal weight of "Rhoplex" B-15 until a uniform milky emulsion is obtained. The balance of the "Rhoplex" B-15 is then added followed by "Catalyst AC" and finally under constant agitation, the ammonium hydroxide. Aging of the mix will cause some improvement in durability to drycleaning. After drying, the assembly should be cured for approximately 3 minutes at 300F.
If higher curing conditions, such as 5 minutes at 320F, are available, "Catalyst AC" can be removed from the formulation. |
